The Legend of the Land of Corum
Dusk of the Gods: Ephnentria and the birth of the five lands
A long time ago this was a world of chaos with nothing in existence. Within that chaos, the only thing that was created with order and a presence was light. The light burned more furiously as it sucked in the other chaotic energies that were scattered amongst the land. As the light burned brighter, the dark shadows of the world where light could not reach became even darker. As the burning light gathered together which formed the power of creation. The dark power that was heavily falling into the bottomless pit became the power of destruction.
Light and Shadow...
The two elements, light and shadow, became the representatives of order and chaos. The world repeated creation and destruction with these powers. That process in itself was another form of chaos and other orders were created within. Through that power, beings that had strength and will were created. The power of their will denied blind creation and destruction. They speculated to find an acceptable reason for this creation and destruction, but their powers were too strong to keep the peace stable. The energy of creation and destruction were only concentrated on a few beings and the this world would come to an end if at least one of them wished for destruction. Having form and order within this world was impossible because it was made of complete chaos and the pure order within such chaos.
The war between the gods once again...
They faced the crisis of total destruction at the end of the war. The bodies of the last five gods were preserved by transforming them into the five lands of Ephnentria but their souls did not have any place to go. They bound themselves to Crystal-Soulstones in order to enclose their souls which would otherwise be scattered amongst the material world. It occurred in a single period in time when compared to the duration of the gods? existence.
The five lands that were born on that day were later called Elland (Corum), Robentia, Maraudon, Darthted, and Evia.
The First Era (Birth) Elland. The Era of Dragons
Ever since the dusk of the gods...
The first race to settle into the land of Corum were not human beings. They were the Elves and Dwarves who were descendants of the Lone-Elves from Robentia.
They were able to harness the power of the dragons, which was the toughest and strongest in existence. The human beings of the land, who were living together in small groups, were extremely weak. But as weak as human beings were, it was easier for them to achieve harmony between chaos and order. They started to piece together their abilities as an inferior race by gradually forming groups and passing on knowledge from the predecessors to the descendants.
The power of the human beings strengthened in such a way that they were strong enough to destroy the dragons that were reigning over the land of Corum. In turn, they were also able to push the Elves and Dwarves out to the borders of Elland.
Through the use of evil rituals, human beings discovered that the crystals of the five lands were asleep somewhere in the land of Corum.
During a time when faults of evil blood were being committed, Elland inherited the name of Corum
The The Second Era (Chaos) Corum
The Era of Human Beings (The Continental War : The Background of Corum 3)
Around the time when the name Elland started to sound very distant in the land of Corum...
The human beings established many dynasties over the years, but the 14 nations within Corum got into many wars because of the schemes of Maraudon and Darthted. This drove the land into a maelstrom of wars.
In the meantime in Maraudon, the first Dark Elves were born. They were greatly welcomed in Maraudon.
The Dark Elves sealed in many dangers because they have the ability to create seals by using strong magical powers. They are revered as the Souls of the Land because of this ability. Such a force became a double-edged sword because not only were they the key to the gates of the other worlds but they also rattled the seal itself.
The once respected Dark Elves became beings who were only born for the preservation of the seals and they lived under restraints their entire lives.
The Third Era (The End of the World)
The World Shall be Renewed (The Background of Corum Online)
During the long history of Corum...
There was never a time in history when Darthted rose to the surface. The Dark Elves, who had the blood of the seal, appeared along with the soulstones that were thought to be lost ever since Ragnarok. That was more than enough to compensate for the time of waiting.
Madongro, of infinite multiplication, used the soulstone as a power source. He caused a great disaster in a single moment throughout all of Ephnentria. Madongro started to absorb the light from the souls of living things in Ephnentria during this great disaster. The reckless acts of Madongro ended up weakening the seals and borders throughout the land of Corum which awakened the ancient dungeons from their slumber.
Now the future of Corum is up to the remaining four soul stones that are hidden throughout the many dungeons that are starting to stir.
The power of deciding the future of Ephnentria will be given to the hands of the heroes who have these soulstones.
The Third Era (The Era of Disorder)
One hundred years of peace... It was as dangerous as a fortress built upon sand...
In the land of Corum, massacres and wars seemed to be coming to an end under the name of heroes. There was an atmosphere of peace in the land and people who were scattered around were gathering together one by one to form groups and build villages.
The people of the peaceful land and villages no longer needed to rely on the power of heroes. Heroes such as the Sorceress Ella, who dealt with the Mana of great nature, Marbeth, the legendary fighter who ruled the land, Celci, the ranger of wind who was always free, Priest Ishuma, who had authority under the divine protection of Gaia, and Summoner Cyon, who freely summoned and controlled the strong ones of the other worlds were starting to become only those of the past.
Leaving the forgotten heroes behind, time went by and people of the city that became strong and organized started being avaricious of their own safety. Greed about land and authority started sprouting inside of them.
Fighters and rangers with sharp shining weapons in their hands; a Sorceress with a staff, and a priest with Gaia?s protection appeared again. It was only the Summoner who couldn?t be seen, because he momentarily lost his power by losing his connection to the other world and the other creatures who were even stronger than before.
As the forgotten ones were once again on the move, gloomy clouds were silently filling the sky as if it was trying to foreshadow the war that was going to sweep away the land once again.
